Devyn Christian

Devon.jpg

Devyn  is an Idaho native who grew up fishing for bass and catfish in the murky waters just outside of Wichita, Kansas.  By the age of 12 he picked up a fly rod and has never touched a conventional rod since.  He began his fly fishing career on the waters of the Owyhee River, in the River of No Return wilderness and all throughout Idaho.  Devyn is a first generation fly fisherman who has been self-taught and learned through experience on the water.  He began tying flies, building rods and researching exotic fish species in high school where he took Brad Abbott's practical entomology course.  Since then, he has taken his experience all throughout the American west, into the deserts of Baja, deep into the Colombian jungle, and across the salt flats of the Pacific Ocean.

Devyn graduated with a degree in English and secondary Education from the University of Montana Western in Dillion, MT where he played football for the bulldogs.  During his undergrad he spent a lot of time on the river where he eventually became a fly fishing guide on the Beaverhead, Bitterroot, and Kootenai rivers of western Montana.

After 7 years in the state of Montana, Devyn moved back home to Boise to become an English teacher at Borah High School and to be closer to family.

Devyn has joined Brad and the Owyhee Fly Fisher to give you an unforgettable experience on the water that's full of laughs, beautiful scenery and tight lines!
