“I have experienced many great days fishing some of the best waters in the west, however, none of them measure up to the days I had fishing with Dan. My Dad and I had two epic days on the Owyhee last week. The PMD hatch was incredible both days and on Thursday the caddis hatch was on and the fish were really keyed in on them from 11:00-3:00. I had two 20 plus fish days highlighted by two 23″ beautiful browns (which were incredibly difficult to land with too small of a net) and numerous 18″-21″ fish. Dan really dialed me in on some great fish and was a tremendous help. “I am retired and planned a trip last year to Boise to visit a friend. I am a moderate ability fly fisherman but realized that I was going to be in some great country for the fly and couldn’t pass on a chance to wet a line.
During the drive to the Owyhee River, Dan prepared me for the experience with discussions on the insect hatch, water conditions and techniques. We began the day wading the river and fishing the banks. The fishing was phenomenal! Dan suggested areas to cast to and many times this resulted in fish. We continued to move up the river and each time we stopped he produced fish.
